Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI) and the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol, UK have a long-standing relationship for collaboration in the areas of Environment & Technology. UWE Bristol is one of the largest providers of Higher Education in the South West of England and is known for its research in areas such as healthcare and green energy.

A delegation of eminent educationists from UWE is visiting the MREI campus today. The delegation was highly appreciative of the academic eco-system and infrastructure at the campus and was glad to note that MREI and UWE are both working towards the common goal of making a difference to the lives of others.

An ‘Information Desk’ about the programs, projects and research opportunities offered by UWE has been incorporated in the Admissions Cell at Manav Rachna. This Desk was inaugurated today by Prof Jane Harrington, Deputy Vice Chancellor, UWE in the presence of Prof Paul Olomolaiye, PVC and Executive Dean, Faculty of Environment and Technology, UWE; Prof Ray Priest, Director International Asia-Pacific; Prof Chad Staddon, Professor of Water Research, UWE; Dr. Anil Kashyap, HOD, Geography and Environmental Management; Dr. Prashant Bhalla, President, MREI; Padmashri Prof. Dr. Pritam Singh, Honorary Director General, MREI; Dr. N. C. Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor, Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS), and other senior dignitaries and faculties from MREI.

This was followed by an Interactive Session of UWE team with Faculty Members & Research Scholars on “Opportunities for Learning by research, courses & modules and projects”.

Describing this at “the moment” for both UWE and MREI, Prof. Ray Priest said:  “Let us work together as learners to light the flame in at least one more person in the world”.

Prof. Jane Harrington said, “At UWE, we inspire minds to do something that they have never imagined and aim to transform future through practice oriented learning”. “When we educate ourselves to be a global citizen and remove all the structural boundaries, it is where we perform the best”, added Prof. Paul Olomolaiye.

The delegation shall be deliberating upon pertinent water issues at the Water Symposium during the day.
