Day 8-10 of MBA Orientation Programme (Batch: 2020-22)
Faculty of Management Studies, MRIIRS organized an Orientation Programme for MBA Freshers wherein various workshops, webinars, live talks are being conducted. >From Day 8 to 10, various interactions, sessions, and quizzes were conducted for the new students to instill a sense of encouragement.
Day 8: First Session of Day 8 was conducted on Design Thinking which was chaired by Dr. Meghna Chhabra where she appraised and conveyed the concept of Design Thinking by quoting ‘We must design for the way people behave, not for how we would wish them to behave .’ Session 2 was conducted on Student Centric Teaching Methodologies Session (IQAC) and was conducted by Dr. Rashmi Mahajan, Director of IQAC, MRIIRS. She discussed the role of IQAC, various stakeholders and feedback systems by showing diagrams and videos and also explained the purpose, structure, and functions of IQAC especially in regard to Teaching-Learning Process which has become student-centric. The last session was taken up by Dr. Sahil Malik on the Basics of Statistics.
Day 9: First session of day 9 was conducted by Dr. Nandlal Dhameja on the Basics of Accounting wherein he briefed about the last session and explained in detail the Accounting Principles which include money terms, Transactions, Entity as an Enterprise. As the session continued, he further explains about Accounting as a measurement System by giving various examples like Purchase stock on credit, paid salaries, a loan from a bank, interest received, etc. The session was highly appreciable by the students. Second session was on Business Quiz by Dr. Amandeep Dhaliwal who conducted a Business quiz for the new students of Batch 2020-22. The lastsession was taken up by Dr. Anindita Chatterjee on the Basics of Management in which she discussed the planning organizing controlling and monitoring mechanism used in the management.
Day 10: Three Sessions were conducted on Day 10. First session was conducted on Student support System wherein the students were made aware of the reason behind the establishment of ‘Student Support System’ and how the members are constantly striving to ensure the all-round development of students through various events and activities which are designed holistically. Second Session was conducted on Communication Skills Ms. Richa from CDC (Career Development Center). In the session, she emphasized the significance of communication and presentation skills for budding managers. Last Session was taken up by Dr. Sahil Malik on Basics of Statistics in which the focus was to introduce students to different types of variables and data studied in statistics.
