Manav Rachna is hosting the exhibition “Deutschland’s Energiewende” in collaboration with German Embassy
- The exhibition showcases success stories on the efficient use of renewable energy resources
- Around 2,500 visitors are expected over the 14-day exhibition
January 24, 2018: To support the Prime Minister’s vision to develop a roadmap for the efficient use of renewable energy resources across the country, a Touring Exhibition “Deutschland’s Energiewende” is being organized by the Manav Rachna International Institute of Research & Studies (MRIIRS, formerly MRIU) in collaboration with Indo-German Energy FORUM (IGEF) and German Embassy.
More than 2500 participants from schools and colleges of Delhi NCR, entrepreneurs and industry heads are expected to visit the exhibition being showcased at MRIIRS from January 22- February 3, 2018. The exhibition promises to share the revolutionary technology adopted by the German industry in its transition to renewable energy resources.
The exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of senior officials from IGEF and the German Embassy including Mr. Tobias Winter, Director, IGEF; Mr. Anil Kumar Bellary, Co-Director, IGEF & GIZ India; and Mr. Michael Reck, Project Associate at IGEF.
While welcoming the august audience, Dr. N C Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor, MRIIRS said: “This exhibition comes to India to foster knowledge sharing and provides some very good ideas for India’s ambitious target for the expansion of renewable energy. Students and experts will get first-hand information on how Germany made the transition to renewable energy sources”.
While giving examples Mr. Tobias Winter shared how Germany has been playing a major role in climate protection. “This exhibition is the answer to how countries can make the energy supply secure, affordable and sustainable”.
The exhibition has on display some successful examples of the use of renewable sources for energy efficiency, reducing energy needed for heating, electro mobility and new transport concepts, as well as climate protection.
Mr. Anil Kumar Bellary reiterated that efficient use of renewable energy will lead to the phasing out of nuclear energy over the years.
