‘When you go home, tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow, we gave our today’.

To honour the sacrifice of selfless martyrs of Indian Armed Forces and to raise funds for the families of those who sacrificed their lives for the nation, Department of Students’ Welfare, MRIIRS (formerly MRIU) organized an event – “SALAAM” on the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day, 2017. Deans and Directors from various departments of MRIIRS & MRU graced the event with their presence.

Dr. I. K. Kilam delivered a warm welcome address to all the dignitaries present and expressed privilege to have ex-army officers in Manav Rachna. This was followed by a video on “A Must Know Reality about Indian Army” in which Captain Raghu Raman explained the reality of Indian Army by saying, “Strength of armed forces is its unity in diversity”. Brig. S. N. Setia, Col. Girish Kumar, Dr. V.K. Mahna, Wg Cdr R.S. Tarnacha, Wg Cdr Anil Chopra, and Col. Mukesh Malhotra shared their significant memories and experiences of Army Life with the audience.

Thereafter, all the ex-army officers were felicitated with a memento followed by the National Anthem. In addition to this, flags were distributed in the whole campus that helped the team to raise funds.
