Bluetooth Controlled Robot by Android Workshop – 5th August 2015
Department of Student Welfare organized “Bluetooth Controlled Robot by Android” Workshop on 5th August 2015 in B-Block Seminar hall. The workshop was conducted by Professor Umesh Dutta (Research Manager MRIIC Labs). A total of 71 participants enrolled for this workshop which included students from different streams and faculties. The workshop commenced at 8:30 am with a basic introduction of Robotics and its applications in daily life. The workshop carried on with detailed theory on history, variant tasks, disciplines and key components in making and developing a bot. The students took interest when the professor began explaining the ways of developing an application to install in an android operating system to control the bot. They even took a keen interest when they began programming into the Arduino. Once the theory was ended the students began practically implementing the source code into the bot. students were divided into 10 groups consisting of 7 students each to work together and develop the software to be inbuilt into the bot. Every group completed their task with flying colors and the workshop came to an end with the distribution of certificates to each participant by Prof. I. K. Kilam Dean, Students Welfare and Prof. Umesh Dutta, Researcg Manager, MRIIC. Students dispersed from the hall at 2:30 pm with abundant knowledge gained from the workshop and a gracious smile of achievement.
