Beginner’s Level Workshop on ‘Social Media Writing’
In the 21st century, social media has been the gamer changer in the field of communication. With the developments in technology and expansion of social media, it has been observed that the world is connected through different mediums of social media such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, blogs, and many more. As an institution, Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) understands the importance of making our students aware of the recent developments in the journalism and mass communication industry and how social media is different from traditional media.
Keeping the same in view, Faculty of Media Studies and Humanities (FMeH), MRIIRS organized a Beginner’s Level Workshop on ‘Social MediaWriting’ which was conducted by Talk 360. Resource persons for the workshop were Sh. Pradip Bagchi, Senior Editor, Times of India; Ms. Jayalakshmi Sengupta, Editor, Niyogi Books and Mr. Ankit Agarwal, a social media specialist.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr N. C. Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor, MRIIRS who discussed about the importance of digital platforms and how we are using these platforms for our communication. Ms. Jayalakshmi said, “We have designed the workshop in a way to sensitize you with the adequate knowledge of social media”.
The workshop was aimed to develop an analytic understanding of the different social media platforms, writing and editing thesocial media write-up to make it more concise, clear and easy to understand, and to develop a basic understanding of social mediamanagement tools among students. The workshop comprised on hands-on training on social media platforms along with various interactive activities.
