Azaadi 70: Antakshari – 10th August 2016
Antakshari is an event where each contestant sings the first verse of a song (usually Bollywood) that begins with a Hindustani consonant on which the previous contestant’s song ended. This event was held in T-block Auditorium from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm, anchored by Athang Potwar (5th sem B. Tech Mech. FET )and Yashu Meel(3rd sem B. Tech ECE, FET ).
The event received participation from all the departments / faculties and was managed by the Department of Students Welfare . The auditorium was amused by different flavours of music and the participants sung really well
The event consisted of 4 rounds that were :
Round 1 – Each team was given a word on which the song had to be sung and judged on the basis of lyrics and time taken to guess the song.
Round 2 – Karaoke tracks were played for each team and the song had to be guessed with the same judgement criteria.
Round 3 – Eight teams were combined into two groups and Antakshari started between the two groups from which one group was eliminated on the basis of points given.
Round 4 – The teams were made to listen a song and they had to guess the singer and the actor of that song.
The event created a fervor of musical entertainment and patriotism. Total number of participants were 87 who were grouped into 29 teams of 3 each. Following two teams were declared as winners by the judges Prof. I. K. Kilam, Dean Students Welfare and RJ Abhishek Chandila, RMR:
Srishti Kalra (7th sem B. Tech CSE, MRU), Vaibhav Aggarwal (7th sem B. Tech CSE, MRU), Prashant Sharma (7th sem B. Tech Mech., MRU) and Kapil Kaushik (5th sem B. Tech Mech., MRU), Deepansh Kamboj (5th sem B. Tech Mech., MRU), Saurav Singh (5th sem B. Tech Mech., MRU).
