Annual Lecture on Embrace Digital Transformation
Dr. O.P. Bhalla Central Library, MRIIRS organized its Annual Lecture on ‘Embrace Digital Transformation’ on April 4, 2018 at Dr. O.P. Bhalla Central Library to apprise the faculty members and students with various aspects of digital transformation. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Shantanu Ganguly, a Fellow, TERI; Principal Investigator, SIRO Project; and KM Practice Lead, Uttarakhand Government on many World Bank Projects. Ms. Heera Kapasi and Ms. Kala Dutta, Former Library Directors, The American Library, New Delhi were also present during the lecture.
Dr. NC Wadhwa, VC, MRIIRS; Dr. M.K. Soni, Pro VC, MRIIRS; Mr. R.K. Arora, Registrar, MRIIRS; and Dr. Meenakshi Khurana, Pro VC, MRU graced the occasion with their presence.
Dr. Shantanu Ganguly began his lecture with great excitement to share his knowledge and mentioned, “Digital Transformation is all about creating digital experience for your customers”. He continued that digital transformation is only possible if we embed digital ecosystem in the entire system. In his words, “If we change reach and speed, we can change the scale”.
“We are heading towards Ubiquitous Computing”, he said. He also shared the digital marketing trends for 2018 which include Marketing personalization, Content Marketing, Video Marketing, Mobile Marketing and Customer Reviews.
Motivating everyone, he quoted Alex Pentland, “Idea is neither created nor destroyed but it is transformed from one form to another”.
He ended his lecture by saying, “Tomorrow you could be a Digipreneur” which referred to the broader aspects of digital transformation.
His thorough knowledge in the domain of digital transformation and its roles in business, education sector and many more provided everyone with a plenty of information. The lecture apprised everyone with the relevant information about digital trends, digital transformation and its necessity.
