Manav Rachna’s Annual Fest Resurrection 2K16 opens on a vibrant note as Femina Miss India World 2016 Priyadarshani Chatterjee mesmerises on and all as judge of Miss India Organization Campus Princess Auditions (for the road to Miss India 2017)
Manav Rachna’s much awaited Annual Fest Resurrection 2K16 got off to a vibrant start at the campus here today! The 3-day power packed cultural extravaganza from October 6-8, 2016, will present a whole gamut of 30 plus Cultural Events ranging from Dance, Music, Arts, Photography, Theatre, Literary to Adventure activities as over 10,000 spectators is expected to soak in the fun and entertainment. A whole host of 100 plus colleges from Delhi-NCR and beyond including IIT, Kharagpur, NIT Kurukshetra, Lady Shri Ram College, Amity University, GGSIP, and the like comprising over 3,000 participants are taking part in this mega event.
Resurrection 2K16, themed on ‘Superheroes & Villains’ was inaugurated by Dr Amit Bhalla Vice President, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions, amidst much joy and jubilation. The Fest welcomed with open arms its audiences, beckoning them to ‘Be here, Be Born again’. They felt greatly revitalized by the sheer energy and enthusiasm that was unleashed on stage as a plethora of cultural performances including Bollywood songs sung by both Faculty and students, contemporary dance forms and art calligraphy on stage set pulses racing! The inaugural programme further witnessed the introduction of ‘Ronze’, a superhero and the mascot of Resurrection, symbolizing peace.
The day was high on glamour as Priyadarshani Chatterjee-Femina Miss India World 2016 was at Resurrection 2K16 to judge Miss India Organization Campus Princess Auditions (for the road to Miss India 2017)! The students also made waves with a Fashion show as they strutted on stage and walked the ramp with great panache.
The entertainment quotient was further upped when Urban Singh Crew performed live jiving to a lively mix of foot-tapping numbers. The Group’s boys danced Hip-Hop and R&B to the tunes of urban Punjabi music, their unique fusion of dance and music making for a spectacular performance!
Congratulating students on their tireless efforts, Dr Amit Bhalla, Vice President, MREI, said, “Resurrection 2K16 is all about youth power at its best, reflecting in abundance their unbridled energy, spirit and verve. The students have put together an event that is close to everyone’s heart, and they have learnt in the process, some basic lessons in life. Be united, be one and create beautiful memories to last a lifetime.” He also urged them to be honest and disciplined while enjoying themselves to the hilt.
Later on in the evening, Hind Rock band Euphoria will perform live at the campus, paving the way for non-stop entertainment and fun.
