An enrichment session on Marketing in the Age of Social Media Marketing
Faculty of Commerce and Business Studies organized an enrichment session on ‘Marketing in the Age of Social Media Marketing’ for final year students. The resource person for the session was Ms. Rohini Vaishnavi who has worked in various organizations as business head and in the Middle Eastern, North African, South Asian and Indian Markets.
The session was conducted under the ELSP Programme. The objective of the ELSP is to expose the students through a series of lectures by different experts, to the current issues and areas of inter-disciplinary interest so as to broaden their mental horizon, improve general awareness and strengthen critical thinking which will help in their career progression.
The session commenced with the interesting videos on comparative objectives of Pizza Hut and Dominos Pizza. She elaborated on the career opportunities in digital marketing in sales and marketing in various organizations.
She also explained about the importance of Customer Relationship Management in this digital era, payment gateways, and resolved queries of students. She then explained the concept of selling of various services digitally and touched upon the personal development and employability skills and role of women in business.
Later she discussed various Do’s and Don’ts in social media. She said, “Today’s youth is born with this, hence they should know the correct use of social media and that should result into constructive and progressive for society”.
Ms. Rohini resolved various career related queries of the students as well. The session inculcated various new dimensions of employment and importance of digital marketing.
