Industrial visit to JBM Industries for B.Tech Mechanical Engg. students
Sixth semester students of B.Tech-Mechanical-Industry Integrated went on an Industrial visit to JBM. Objective of the visit was to familiarize students with the real life scenario of industrial working environment and to provide practical exposure.
Mr. Sudhanshu Vishwakarma – HR and his team briefed the students about the about company’s safety norms, customers, standards and various manufacturing processes of the plant. The team was also briefed about the guidelines and rules that are to be followed in the plant.
Plant experts explained various machines and operations being done at various work stations. Students observed Fabrication techniques used at JBM Industry, Laser cutting and Plasma Cutting, Press brake operation, Welding techniques & parameters used for MIG welding (manual & Robotic), Powder coating, Inspection and assembly fixtures, and visited Paint Shop.
This visit made students learn about manufacturing of various parts Hydraulic Tank, Fuel Tank, Combination Tanks, Inner leg, outer leg, Muffler, stack pipe. They also learnt about processes like cutting of metal sheets, forming, bending, seaming & curling, welding, cleaning of parts, powder coating, painting and various inspection procedures which are involved at each step of manufacturing a specific part.
