Proceedings of Expert Lecture of Dr. Marcin Paprzycki
The Faculty of Computer Applications organised an expert lecture on Semantic Technologies on February 19, 2018. Dr. Marcin Paprzycki, Associate Professor in the Systems Research Institute, Polish Academy of Sciences, Poland was the resource person for the lecture. Dr. Naresh Grover, Dean Academics and Dean FCA presented the floral welcome to the speaker. In the first session, Dr. Marcin mentioned that semantic technology, in the context of semantic web is used to create a ‘universal medium for the exchange of data’ by smoothly interconnecting the global sharing of any kind of personal, commercial, scientific and cultural data.
In the second session, he talked about the various ontology tools and their usages in research. He has also advised the research scholars to customize existing ontology tools. He also showcased number of open source tools and its implementation in the current research trends.
Dr. Marcin resolved the research queries asked by faculty members and research scholars. The session ended with the vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. S.S. Tyagi, HOD, FCA.
