Dr. Soma Patnaik, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology was among the top five in country in the NPTEL FDP course on Medical Biomaterials.

She was offered two weeks internship in IIT Madras (IITM), Chennai and worked with Prof Mukesh Doble, FRSC, Professor (Emeritus), Department of Biotechnology in his Bioengineering & Drug Design Lab at IITM.

Prof Mukesh Doble was the course instructor for Medical Biomaterials course and is a renowned scientist with more than 180 publications, 10 patents and contributed immensely as NPTEL Course instructor for Computer aided drug design, Biostatistics and design of experiments, etc. Dr. Patnaik was given hand on training on different instruments to design biomaterials. She also learnt the characterization of these biomaterials under Prof Doble’s supervision.
