Innovation is the Watchword
“Learning and innovation go hand in hand. The arrogance of success is to think that what you did yesterday will be sufficient for tomorrow”- William pollard
Innovation is synonymous to identifying new methods and prospects of doing things in more than one ways. Correct exposure and enough resources add to the process of inventing something new and worthy.
Manav Rachna educational Institute nurtures this ideology and believes in exposing its students to a platform where they can conceive new ideas and produce the desired result, in the form of revolutionary products and technologies.
Dr O.P. Bhalla’s educational Institute, Incubation and Innovation Centre allow its students to plant new ideas and discover their talent through their own invention and innovations.
Unlimited resource of knowledge, infrastructure, equipment and encouragement from the Institute has resulted in some of the greatest innovations and implementation of the theoretical formulae’s.
Nurturing an environment that allows development of new innovative programs and methods has been the discipline in our college. MREI aims at tapping the inner potential of the students and encouraging them to excel in their area of skill.
Until now, students of MREI have produced wide range of products which includes simple lawnmower that runs on solar power to the smart skull innovation that sends out signals to emergency centres if the wearer is faced with an accident or the Urban Diesel Car that runs for 123 km/l and much more.
Karmveer Singh, Prateek S. Sharma, DavinderRamawat say in unison, “We are encouraged to go all out to fuel our imaginative instincts.”
At MREI, patents have been filed on a wide range of products—no less than 34 of them–where innovation and utility go hand in hand.
From a Battery Operated Milk Warmer (Patent application no. 719/DEL/2014) to an Electronic Suggestion Cum Complaint Box (Patent application no. 720/DEL/2014), a Pole Climber Robot (Patent application no. 715/DEL/2014), or even a flapping flying machine (Patent application no. 3408/DEL/2013), the sheer range of innovations is mind boggling.
Students here, have an eye for detail, have also come up with innovations such as the atmospheric energy tapping device(Patent application no. 2512/DEL/2011); pneumatically powered steps for staircases (Patent application no.1301/DEL/2010) and improved dual powered two wheelers(Patent application no. 1184/DEL/2007).
Backed by ingenuity and enthusiasm, students have also designed and created a cycle which functions on land and water and a Swastha Sanjivini device where rural women are reminded of their medical schedules and pathological tests.
MREI firmly believes that the creative potential of students should be tailored to suit the needs of society and industries at large.
In April this year, the outstanding performance of Manav Rachna College of Engineering students at the National Finale of the Microsoft Imagine Cup in the Innovations Category has been cause for much jubilation.
Our students have bagged the First, Second and Third positions at the finale, making their mark on a global platform with their innovative products like:
Respiron : A device and smartphone application for medication reminder, out of range alarm, puff counter and panic button .
MovAid : The world’s first personalized solution to measure and monitor the recovery of any individual post orthopedic trauma rehabilitation, surgery, injury or joint replacements.
and Smart Skull : an automatic alert system that provides alerts for the victim’s relatives and emergency numbers in case of an accident so that the victim receives appropriate medical care.
Thriving for excellence as the key to success and growth, MREI has won accolades aplenty in professional education and research, reiterating its commitment to quality education and creating better human beings, as the brand name ‘ManavRachna’ stands for.
