There was much hope, anticipation and joy in the air as Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Manav Rachna International University welcomed 1st Year B.Tech Students (2016-2020 Batch) with the commencement of Academic Session 2016-17. As is the tradition at Manav Rachna, the eventful day commenced on an auspicious note with a Havan ceremony that was specially organised to mark this momentous occasion. The students also paid tributes to Founder Visionary Dr O.P. Bhalla as a mark of respect to his visionary zeal. Keeping in view the UGC norm, the new students along with their mentors engaged in plantation under ‘One Student, One Tree’ campaign of UGC. This eco-friendly gesture is bound to remind newcomers of the need for a pollution-free world and their contribution towards a cleaner and green environment. The day further progressed with a formal initiation programme when several senior dignitaries along with HODS and Faculty warmly welcomed the freshers and their parents.
Speaking at the Commencement session and addressing students, Dr N.C. Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor, MRIU, said, “This is a significant day as you start your journey towards the realization of your goals and careers. We at MRIU will provide you with ample opportunities –both intellectual and extra-curricular—to help you emerge as successful citizens of the future.
