MRIU Organizes a Workshop on Cisco Networking
Computer Society of India (CSI) Student Branch at Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Manav Rachna International University, organized a one-day workshop on CISCO Networking, technically supported by Network Bulls, on March 13, 2015, held at MRIU campus, Faridabad. This workshop aimed at providing students a comprehensive practical exposure to CISCO networking basics. It was attended by Dr. S. S. Handa, Professor, Deptt. of CSE, FET; Wng Cdr Anil Chopra, Professor, Deptt. of CSE, FET, faculty members and students. The workshop constituted of two sessions. In the first session, the speaker Mr. Damanpreet Kukreja, CCIP, Network Bulls, apprised the attendees about the Cisco Routers & Switches, classes of IP Addresses and their practical uses, about operations and architecture of routers and switches (uses, hardware, software), Telnet and remote login, Virtual Private Networks (VPN) etc. The second session was purely technical whereby the students were made to design a network and configure live routers and switches by remote logging and direct access to them. Students learned to implement networking technology on real Cisco routers and switches. After the sessions were over, Wng Cdr Anil Chopra expressed his gratitude towards the Cisco expert and gave his vote of thanks. The workshop turned out to be extremely successful with total number of 140 students, along with faculty members in attendance.
