Mega Blood Donation Camp at Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI) in the memory of Dr O.P. Bhalla on his 2nd death anniversary
To pay homage to the legendary Dr. O. P Bhalla, on his second death anniversary, the entire Manav Rachna family organized a mega blood donation camp at the Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI) Campus today.
The Blood Donation Camp was organized under the aegis of Dr. O P Bhalla Foundation in association with the Rotary Club, Aravalli; Rotary Club, Faridabad Central; Lions Club, Faridabad; Rotary Club, Faridabad East; Rotary Club, Faridabad Aastha and Manav Rachna Leo Club.
Around 850 units of blood was collected from this mega blood donation camp.
Dr. Amit Kumar Agarwal, (IAS) Deputy Commissioner- Faridabad inaugurated the blood donation camp. The Guest of Honor for the occasion was Smt. Satya Bhalla, Chief Patron, MREI. Special invitees on the solemn occasion includedDr Prashant Bhalla, President, MREI; Dr Amit Bhalla, Vice President, MREI; DR N.C. Wadhwa, MRIU; Dr Sanjay Srivastava, Vice Chancellor, MRU; Lion Sham Kathuria, MJF, Advisor, Blood Donation Committee; Lion Mahesh Banga, Chairman, Blood Donation Committee, among others. The day began with floral tributes and mellifluous bhajans by the students of Manav Rachna International School, Charmwoodat the Prernasthal of MREI campus.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Amit Kumar Agarwal, Deputy Commissioner, Faridabad said: “I feel privileged and greatly honoured to inaugurate the Blood Donation camp. The Camp commemorates Dr O.P. Bhalla’s lifelong commitment towards the good of society. I would like to express my deepest admiration for the Manav Rachna family, its faculty members and students, for making this day a memorable one by their generosity of spirit.”
Dr Prashant Bhalla, President, MREI echoed similar sentiments, “I feel greatly humbled by the enthusiasm with which students have risen to the occasion and donated blood for the good of others, knowing that they have helped change a life. The Blood Donation Camp organized every year on this day is a tribute to our Founding Father Dr O.P. Bhalla, who made it his life’s mission to dedicate himself towards societal improvement, be it in the sphere of health, education, development of housing societies and the like. The Blood Donation camp is a symbol of his philanthropic mission which made life meaningful for those both known and unknown to him.”
