World Prosthodontist Day Celebration
The Manav Rachna Dental College and Hospital hosted a vibrant celebration of World Prosthodontist Day under the theme “Next Gen Prosthodontics.” This two-day event, held on January 23rd and 25th, 2024, brought together a diverse cohort of 75 participants, encompassing undergraduate and postgraduate students, esteemed faculty members, and valued alumni.
Day one commenced with an insightful keynote address delivered by Prof (Dr.) Neeta Pasricha, HOD of the Department of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge at ITS Dental College, Ghaziabad. Her personal journey and expert perspective on contemporary trends in Prosthodontics ignited a spark of intellectual curiosity among the audience. Subsequently, the air buzzed with academic competition as students showcased their talents in various formats. E-posters and 1-minute reels presented compelling research findings, while the Rangoli competition transformed Manav Rachna Dental College into a vibrant canvas of creativity. The “Best out of Dental Materials” demonstration showcased ingenuity and technical prowess, leaving everyone impressed. The day culminated in a lively Nukkad Natak performance by our talented students, employing humor and theatricality to raise awareness about oral health within the community. A sense of camaraderie and shared purpose permeated the atmosphere as awards were presented, recognizing the outstanding contributions of participants in both academic and cultural spheres.
Day two saw the celebration transcend the confines of the college, extending its reach to the wider community. We organized an oral health camp at Vanaprastha Vriddhjan Seva Sadan, an old age home in Sector 28, Faridabad. Our team conducted comprehensive oral screenings and educated the community on maintaining good oral hygiene and the importance of prosthetics for the elderly residents. The camp was met with immense appreciation and fostered a sense of social responsibility among the participants.
The Prosthodontist Day celebration was a resounding success, leaving a profound impact on everyone involved. The event not only celebrated the vital role of prosthodontists in society but also fostered a spirit of academic engagement and promoted oral health awareness within the community. Moving forward, our commitment remains steadfast in paving the way for the next generation of Prosthodontists.
