Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani felicitates MRU and MRIIRS with ‘Institution of Happiness’ award
at QS I-Gauge Academic Excellence Conclave
Manav Rachna University and Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies
have received the ‘Institutions of Happiness’ award for fostering happiness in the academic
environment at the QS I-Gauge Academic Excellence Conclave held at the India Habitat Centre,
New Delhi.
A total of 100 Institutions from Pan India participated in this survey and only 33 qualified for the
criteria to receive the ‘Institutions of Happiness’ award. UK based QS, Quacquarelli Symonds’
Indian subsidiary, QS I-GAUGE announced India’s happiest educational institutions after a
rigorous assessment exercise which began in December last year in association with industry
body ASSOCHAM.
Hon’ble Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani presided
over the event and awarded the certificates. Addressing the attendees, she said “it is important
that educators gain insights into the level of happiness of the students, their well-being, quality
of life, and engagement in sustainability and social change projects, which will enable
institutions to advance further for better outcomes.”
At the event, Manav Rachna University also received the certificate for QS I-Gauge overall
Diamond rating which is bestowed upon an Institution after rigorous assessment in over 100
indicators spread across various categories ranging from teaching & learning, faculty quality,
employability, social responsibility, and internationalization to research, entrepreneurship,
innovation, sports, and arts & culture.
MRU has been bestowed with QS I-Gauge Diamond rating for Teaching & Learning, Faculty
Quality, Facilities and Social Responsibility; QS I-Gauge Platinum rating for Employability and
Academic Development.
Colonel Girish Kumar Sharma – Executive Director, International Affairs received the award on
behalf of MRIIRS. MRIIRS is a QS – 5 Star rated Institution for Teaching, Employability,
Academic Development, Facilities, Social Responsibility and Inclusiveness.
Prof. (Dr.) I.K. Bhat – Vice Chancellor, MRU; Prof. (Dr.) Dharmendra S. Sengar – Pro-Vice
Chancellor, MRU and Dr. Sangita Banga – Dean Academics, MRU were present to receive the
award for MRU.
Dr. Ashwin Fernandes – CEO and Director of QS I-GAUGE said, “Quality and excellence are of
