Sh. Mool Chand Sharma acknowledged the contributions of Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI) in transforming the education landscape of Haryana. He said: “Due to financial and economic constraints, around 47M school children drop-out from schools. I am very happy to see Manav Rachna, Sony India, Kunskapsskolan and other Swedish companies joining hands to provide training and employment to these students”.
This lab has been created by KEDMAN Skilling Private Limited, which is a joint venture between Manav Rachna Educational Institutions and Kunskapsskolan, Sweden for Skill Development. The initiative is supported by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). Sony India has given its CSR for establishing this Vocational Skill Lab at the school with the objective of benefiting the Girl Students studying at the school.
KEDMAN project is aimed at emancipation of about 47 million school going Indian students who drop out early of their schools to support their families economically without any skill training. In November 2017, NSDC and SkillEd India (a joint venture between Kunskapsskolan Education Sweden AB and Manav Rachna Educational Institutions) had initiated a pilot in 100 schools in Haryana using KED methodology. Furthering the pilot, SkillEd India and NSDC will roll out the initiative across other states, with more sectors included and digitizing the methodology in regional languages.
