An educational visit of B.Tech. (Aeronautical) students of 7th Semester and 5th Semester to BrahMos Aerospace, Delhi Cantt., New Delhi, was conducted on 27-10-2016. The visiting team comprised of 25 students and 3 faculty/staff members.

The BrahMos Aerospace was formed as a joint venture between Defence Research and Development Organization of India and Military Industrial Consortium of Russia through an Inter-Governmental Agreement on 12-02-1998.

The BrahMos missile is a unique, supersonic, cruise missile, one of its own kind in the world, and is powered by a ramjet engine in its sustainer stage. As a cruise missile, it flies at supersonic speeds, very close to the surface thus avoiding detection by enemy’ radar system and carries over 200 kg explosive warhead. It is a high precision smart weapon.

The visiting team was welcomed and taken around the Exhibition Hall by the authorities of BrahMos Aerospace. All the displays which included various assemblies and parts of the BrahMos missile were explained to the students. The missile has already been extensively tested for induction into all the defence forces of India.

The visit was extremely educative and memorable for all the students/faculty members.
